Bad PMS, bad two days
I was doing really well all the way up until Saturday night. PMS kicked in and then all I wanted was sugar, sugar, sugar. I managed to stave it off until the very end of the night and then I caved and bought a Little Debbie cake... or two... and ate them both. =/ Sunday I didn't feel any better (in fact, I felt worse, because next day muscle fatigue from weight lifting set in on top of PMS cramps and the like) and I wound up at the convenience store again, buying another Little Debbie cake. I guess I did better Sunday since I only ate the one instead of two, but all the time, three cakes in two days, at roughly 350-400 calories each... and I don't even want to know how much sugar!!!
Bad definitely won out over good this weekend.

Oh no! Moderation though. Only eating one instead of two is great. That is a positive thing. I think we all mess up. PMS is the devil.

Don't be so hard on yourself. I don't think a couple Little Debbie cakes once a month are going to make or break your diet.
Maybe planning ahead before the next bout of PMS could help. Have some sort of treat on hand that has less calories and sugar than the cakes that can stave off the cravings.

I don't have the same cycle after two kids and Mirena but when I do I tend to go into hibernation mode more than food mode. I would almost rather have the food craving than the sleep, I walk around like a Zombie for a few days with people always asking me what's wrong. Like I really want to tell them to start with.

That's a good idea, Jeans. Normally I don't keep sweets in the house because if they're here, I'll eat them, but it might not be a bad idea to keep an emergency "PMS box" with a couple of treats and some Midol in it, ha.

You need a happy tin - chocolate, pain killers, nail varnish, rom-com and a small bottle of wine
It's always carbs that does it for me, cheesy chips and gravy and loads of pasta!

PMS is the devil. I agree! It seems like every month we go through this and it's such a challenge. I think we can't beat ourselves up about it, but then again it's a monthly challenge to not go kind of nuts (for me anyway!). And for me it's different each month, sometimes I want sugar, sometimes I want salt and carbs. Last period I made a huge bowl of mac and cheese with a load of salt. Not a proud moment, but then we battle it the rest of the month, right?
