I've been kicking around the idea of meal replacements for say, two or three out of four or five total meals, but I have insulin resistance and need to watch my sugar intake. Are meal replacement shakes and bars (like Slim Fast, for example) typically high in sugar?
I would consider Slim Fast to be high in sugar, but it depends on what your limit is per meal. To me, 30 grams of sugar per serving is a lot, but you might not be able to find any meal replacements with less than that. (Maybe Atkins?)
Thanks for the input. I guess I will just have to read the labels on all of the different meal replacement options out there or maybe order something off the Internet that is specifically meant for people who have to control sugar.
