Ginger, out of concern for your safety you should consider hiring one temporarily so they can teach you the correct way to do exercise so you get maximum benefit (efficiency of movements) and don't hurt yourself by straining your body in ways you shouldn't. It's not just about how to get into a piece of equipment and use it. It's about how to pick the right resistance and movements so you get the maximum results from the effort that you're going to spend anyway. Wrong effort = less results. I'm not saying you need one long term, but if you've never used the equipment or weights before, you should consider it.
