I've just watched this ridiculous programme on channel 4 for the 2nd week running, but never again! I spent the whole hour shouting at the screen, and hubby had to tell me to calm down.
This week they promoted:
The fast food diet, where you eat only fast food but only 1500 calories a day.
The grapefruit diet, where you eat ½ a grapefruit before each healthy meal
The apple cider vinegar diet, where you drink it before each healthy meal
The blood type diet, where your blood group determines what foods to eat to lose weight...
Basically it's all a load of cobblers and very subjective. They're putting people on crash diets that have no nutritional evidence but rely on controlling calories in some way. They are simply gimmicky ways of eating.
And lastly, they started to discuss clean eating, by saying some people take it too far and restrict too many foods and become anorexic. There was no mention of the benefits of clean eating, but an insinuation that participants become control freaks.
I'm furious at channel 4!
