We think of ropes we think of our childhood but a simple rope is a good fat burning workout for everyone to try.
Grab A Rope
If you go jogging or run at a slow pace and don't enjoy running (like me) swap it for jumping rope ... you can burn more calories skipping.
Intensity is a big factor in this exercise. As a person who suffers exercise induced asthma I definitely prefer skipping over running especially in the colder days.
Muscles Used
You will mostly be working your calves, hamstrings, thighs and many will be happy to hear jumping rope works your glutes #peachybum. As you jump and remain balance you are working your core, chest and back and of course while you are turning the rope you are also working your upper body arm area.Jumping rope is a cardio heavy exercise and improves endurance ... if you don't like running, grab a rope or why not mix it up and do a little of both.
Cardio will burn fat but no matter how hard you workout remember to keep to a good healthy balanced diet and stay on track
TIPS
- Get a custom sized rope for your height, I highly recommend SGF Speed Ropes *CLICK HERE*
- Engage those muscles more and try one-legged jumps
- Keep a record of how many skips you have done, compare it in the future
- Try a weighted rope
